More Changes Onboard

We woke at about 7.00am or some did and others snoozed on. It was a lovey calm morning with the water as flat as a Millpond and there was condensation on deck.

It was great to sit on a chair on the rear deck having a first tea of the day. As everyone stirred the noise levels rose and some had poached eggs on toast and other cereal and fruit. With some many on board things happened and it was best to keep out the way.

Corinne was arriving later in the day and the others wanted to see the old town. So we ventured in the dinghy again dodging the fast boats and wash. We meandered through the old town and saw the  storks and their nests on the cathedral tower. We found a nice café for a coffee where we tried 3 local cakes- crème caramel, a sweet potato cake and an almond cake. Delicious.

We wandered the streets again and visited the municipal market to re- provision again as we will move on tomorrow. We also bought some Pasteis de Nata as Corinne likes them and they are very moorish.

We whizzed back to the boat with our shopping and had a delicious lunch of assorted salads and cheese swiftly prepared by the girls who were getting to know where everything is. The breeze had got up and so it was nice to sit at the back of the boat being wind cooled. Then it was time for Mark to be off to meet Corinne at the airport. In the interim we pumped up the paddle board and had a first tentative circle of the boat. It was a bit like being on a wobble board.

Corinne arrived with much merriment and we had Nye Timber for an aperitif and a delicious sea bream supper with sweet potato and broccoli.

An early night for all listening to what was becoming a regular night concert for us.
