23 December 2024 -New Zealand- South Island -Lake Wanaka

We woke early as we were hoping to fly to Milford Sound. We rang at 8.00am to check whether the flight was going and they said the weather was not good enough and to ring at 1.00pm in case we could go in the afternoon. We therefore head a leisurely breakfast.

We went into town and wondered round the shops and getting a few Xmas bits. We had a nice coffee and explored the town. We then did some food shopping  as we will be moving on tomorrow to Queenstown.

We returned to the hotel and had a sandwich and I did some more Australia planning. We rang at 1.00pm but they were not flying in the afternoon either. We then decided to hire some bikes and cycled round the lake and past the town. We continued round to Eely Point and Bremner Bay. The weather was quite good and it was lovely and warm. We had a beer in town and then  ode back after a couple of hours.

We sat and enjoyed the sun and the baby duckings in the pond in front of our room. We had some tea and I did more planning.

We then had an early supper and watched a film on the TV. We look forward to moving on tomorrow.

I heard from the Skipper who checked on her and all was good.

Opportunity Year Two

In year two I will be going from New Zealand in early January 2025 across to Sydney and up the Eastern Australian Coast, Indonesia and then through Bali, Singapore and on to Thailand to end year two about the end of November 2025. I will need some more crew.
