Friday

The trade winds from behind came in about 7.30am so we could then start to sail downwind. The direction to our next waypoint some way off A Coruna even with the wind behind was not possible on the course we could make so we did the best we could. Initially it was quite rolly with some 2m swells which moved us about a bit and with grey clouds. It then calmed down and the sun came out and we had a glorious afternoon poodling along albeit some way off course. In fact we were heading for Bermuda!!

We realised that we needed to get on and that hopefully the wind would turn more Northerly nearer our waypoint in the early hours of Saturday morning so we had to get there by a more direct route - the engine again which has worked very well.

Otherwise did some more Astronavigation and chatted, read and filled our time in a very pleasant way. Used the watermaker for the first time. We eat well with bangers and mash for supper which kept up our spirits.

A good day to end Biscay as we begin the descent down the Spanish coast to Cascais.
